Hi, I'm Ms. Dulaney

Eagle Point Academy Founder

After working 20 years in corporate America's affluent banking industry, I've learned a few things about big business and the one's who run them. But first, let me explain why I am here, and you, reading my educational love story.

(For my credential seeking parents, here you go...I have an MBA, Finra 7, 63, 65, 9, and 10 licensed, Insurance License, Public Notary, and worked at Hewlett Packard, JP Morgan Private Bank, Fidelity Investments, and Wells Fargo)

UNEXPECTED CATALYST

It was the year 2020, when the world was brought to its knees by the pandemic that started me on my path to becoming a teacher--it was the month of April, to be exact. I was working in institutional securities trading and my manager asked who on my team would like to be in the first round of employees to work from home. Well, at the time, my children were in the first and third grade and their school was finalizing plans to shut down the school. Of course I said, "I'll go!" I didn't have a backup for childcare so I practically volunteered before he could even finish his sentence. I was always good at the old hand game, slaps--my anticipation skills are unrivaled. I had my desk locked up faster than you could say pandemic. When I got home, little did I know the amount of insanity my day's would have as I was tasked with booking $20-30 million dollar trades against the clock and at same time coordinating my kids zooms with the school. Up, down, up, down, zooms, meetings, chats, up, scanning homework, down, school emails, work emails, zoom, book deal, zoom...what the ___? My family was suffering.

 I QUIT

With the pandemic breathing down our backs like the relentless devil itself, I pushed through the school year, worked through the summer I decided to resign from a corporate job that I had grown to enjoy.

I didn't know what this would ultimately mean for my family. But what I did know was that I QUIT!!!
